ITINERARY
Day 1, Moscow
Arrival transfer. Accommodation.
Day 2, Moscow
After breakfast. A guided out-of-town excursion to Gorki Leninskye, a large museum complex set up in nice estate where Vladimir Lenin lived until his death in 1924. The estate also boast a fascinating exposition of Russian suburban life of the 19th–20th centuries. Lunch included. In the afternoon 3h Moscow city sightseeingwith photo stops, including Red Square, Kremlin, Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Vorobiovy Gory (Sparrow Hills) and other major landmarks. No entrances included.
Day 3, Moscow
After breakfast. Visit to the Armoury Chamber to view a rich collection of gold and silver articles,
precious stones, tsar’s crowns and regalia. A walking tour of the Kremlin grounds. Surrounded by monumental red-brick walls and towers the Kremlin (UNESCO World Heritage Site) boasts a great number of historical monuments, such as magnificent gold-domed cathedrals, the gigantic Tsar Cannon and Tsar Bell, the Grand Kremlin Palace. In the afternoon. A walking tour of Arbat, a downtown pedestrian street with souvenir shops, street performers, cafes, restaurants and bars.
Tour of the Moscow Metro, the most beautiful underground transport network distinguished for the artistic decorations of stations. 20:00 transfer to the railway station for departure to Novgorod by night train.
Day 4, Novgorod
Arrival in Novgorod, also called Veliky (Great) Novgorod for its outstanding historical importance.
Transfer to hotel “Volkhov”. Breakfast. After breakfast sightseeing tour of Novgorod, one of the oldest Russian cities, set up in the 9th c. The tour features outstanding architectural and cultural monuments of Medieval Russia. Visit to St. Sofia Cathedral to marvel at authentic frescos by old masters. Lunch. Visit to Yuriev Monastery and Wooden Architecture Museum. Transfer to railway station for the departure to St. Petersburg by train at 18:45. Arrival at St. Petersburg railway station at 21:33. Transfer to the Hotel.
Day 5, St. Petersburg
After breakfast. St. Petersburg city sightseeing tour with photo stops, including the Nevsky Prospect, Admiralty, Kazan Cathedral, Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood, Anichkov Bridge and
other highlights of the city. Visit to Peter and Paul Fortress, the birth place of the new capital set up by Peter the Great. Admire historic buildings, the cannon with over a 150 year long tradition of firing at noon, the Trubetskoy Bastion, where rebellious poets, writers and other prominent personalities were incarcerated in imperial Russia. Visit the impressive Peter & Paul Cathedral, the burial grounds of Russian emperors.
Day 6, St. Petersburg
After breakfast. Visit to Hermitage. The world renowned museum is home to an enormous
collection of masterpieces by great masters, Oriental treasures including fascinating Scythian gold articles. Your guide will ensure you see the best.
Day 7, St. Petersburg
After breakfast. A guided tour to Pushkin 25 km St. Petersburg. Formerly known as Tsarskoye Selo, the town of Pushkin is home to the majestic Catherine Palace. Visit the Grand Hall decorated with gilded wood carvings and mirrors; the Dining Room with magnificent porcelain dinner services and other attractions. Admire the gorgeous Amber Room faced with natural amber of different colors and hear the story of its re-creation.
Day 8, St. Petersburg
After breakfast. Departure, no guide.
